YOUTH MEAL DEALS:  The highest bidders for this month’s “Meal Deals” will be announced after church TODAY.  The winners will be able to pay for and pick up their “Meal Deal” at that time.  Many thanks to all for your support which will help with expenses to attend the 2019 LCMS Youth Gathering in Minneapolis, MN, next summer!  (New information will be out next Sunday for the next silent auction “Meal Deals” so check the narthex again next week and put in your bid!)

A BRIEF SPECIAL VOTERS’ MEETING will be held after worship next Sunday to present revisions to the proposed by-laws amendments to our church constitution.  All are encouraged to stay for this meeting.

THE QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING will be held after worship on Sunday, July 8.  All confirmed members, 18 and older, are urged to attend.

THE BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN ended last Sunday.  If you have forgotten your bottle, you may drop it off in the church office by this Friday. If you haven’t had a chance to fill your bottle, please return it anyway so that Clarity can continue to use it for other churches.  Bottles will be returned to Clarity at the end of this week.

TRINITY LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL continues to expand its international student ministry and is seeking host families for three students: a 17-year-old male from Cambodia and a 15-year-old female from Vietnam for the upcoming school year and a 16-year-old male from Germany for the first semester.  Visiting students cover full tuition and help offset room, board, and transportation costs.  Please contact Principal Darlage at cdarlage@trinitycougars.org or 812-524-8547 for more information or to volunteer to serve as hosts!

SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING will be offered at St. Paul, Borchers, this Tuesday, June 19, at 7:00 pm.  This training uses the QPR (question…persuade…refer) method for suicide prevention.  This is not a form of counseling or treatment, but is intended to help all people be prepared to offer hope through positive action if you know of someone who may be thinking about suicide.  Questions??? GOLF OUTING:  Trinity Lutheran High School will host its 15^th Annual Cougar Classic Golf Outing on Saturday, June 30, at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour.  The 18-hole, 4-person best-ball outing will be complete with carts, contests, prizes, and an awards luncheon.  The cost per golfer is $60 ($50 for alumni and current students).  Registrations must be received by Thursday, June 28.  Brochures are available in our narthex or persons may register online at www.trinitycougars.org or by calling Aaron Rudzinski at 812-524-8547.

“He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.”  How blessed we are to be His disciples!  The Lord has indeed explained everything to us.  He has told us all things plainly.  Why then are we ever so foolish as to disobey His clear Word?  Our fight against sin in the power of the Holy Spirit is truly a struggle.  Therefore, let us receive the Lord’s help in His Word and Sacraments – and let us fight the good fight of faith and grow up into His image. YOUTH MEAL DEALS:  The Senior High Youth are offering “Meal Deals” to raise funds so they can attend the 2019 LCMS Youth Gathering in Minneapolis, MN, next summer.  Starting today, sign-up sheets are on the table in the narthex for a silent auction to bid on these meals.  Each Sunday/Wednesday for several months, you can bid on the two different meals being offered.  The highest bidders will be announced after church on the last Sunday of each month and will be able to pay for and pick up their “Meal Deal” at that time.  The first two “Meal Deals” are 9x13 breakfast casseroles: 1) egg, ham and cheese casserole, sweet rolls, and fresh fruit and 2) egg and sausage casserole, muffins, and a fruit salad.  Many thanks to all for your support!

EVERYONE IS INVITED to the graduation ceremony for our eighth graders this Tuesday evening, May 29, at 7:00pm. Mr. Mike Wilson, Director of Admissions and Outreach at Trinity Lutheran High School will be the guest speaker.  Valedictorian, Kade Hill, and Salutatorian, Leana Baxter, will give their presentations. A reception and awards presentation will be held in the gym following the graduation service.

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” With that rebirth we receive new desires, new lives, new purposes.  To the (fleshly) world, Christian generosity makes no sense: the total minus a percentage is less than the original total.  But Spirit-reborn Christians know that God's’ math works differently (as we might expect from the Trinity!): a blessing received from God becomes more of a blessing when it is used in generosity to bless others.

OUR YOUTH will be attending the 2019 National Youth Gathering  in Minneapolis, MN next summer. All youth who are currently in 7^th grade and older and interested in attending will meet this evening at 6:30 pm (before the 7:00 pm youth meeting) in the school cafeteria to receive information. COME AND ENJOY a day at camp!  Lakeview Ministries will be hosting an Open House at Camp Lakeview and at Camp Cedarbrook at the beginning of June.  Everyone is invited.  Camp Lakeview’s Open House will be Sunday, June 3, and will begin with a worship service at 11:00am.  The Open House at Camp Cedarbrook will be held on Saturday, June 9, with a worship service at 10:00am.  Both worship services will be followed by a BBQ lunch and many activities for the entire family to enjoy!  Free-will donations will be accepted to offset expenses for the day.

“When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.” Pentecost was the Old Testament harvest festival: a time of thanksgiving, bounty, and the giving of gifts.  How appropriate that in the New Testament it takes on the meaning of a new harvest: the ripe fields of the nations, bringing in the elect of every tribe and tongue to sing the Lord’s praise.  Every farmer knows that it is God Who gives the increase and that the harvest calls for thanksgiving.

TRINITY LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL will be having their annual plant sale this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 15, 16, 17.  There will be a variety of plants for sale including purple, red, and white wave petunias, red and white impatiens, red begonias, sweet potato vines, and tomato and pepper plants.

THE MICHAEL D. HEALY Memorial Ride will be held next Saturday, May 19, at Celebrations in Seymour.  Motorcycle registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with the ride starting at 12:30 p.m.  Not a rider?  No problem!  There will also be a dinner, live DJ, dancing, raffles, and a silent auction after the ride.  Event doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with the dinner at 6:00 p.m. and must at 7:00 p.m.  All proceeds go to the Michael D. Healy Endowment Fund, which supports Christian education assistance for students at Trinity Lutheran High School.

 MRS. KAREN KRUGER, longtime preschool teacher at St. Paul (Clifty) Lutheran Early Childhood Ministry, will be retiring at the end of this school year.  Karen has served as a teacher in the LCMS for over 50 years.  In thanks to God, St. Paul will be recognizing Karen’s work in the preschool at the 8:00 a.m. worship service this Sunday, May 20.  Everyone is invite to join them in worship and for fellowship and a short program following the service.

POSITION AVAILABLE: MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Zion Lutheran Church is searching for a childcare coordinator for the 2018-2019 school year.  This person will be responsible for supervising children, volunteers, and staff for three Fridays per month from 8:34-10:45am.  In addition, (s)he will be responsible for attending ONE morning planning meeting each month.  This is a paid position with roughly 10 hours per month.  If interested, please call Michelle Downey at 920-248-2640 for more information.  It is hoped to have this position filled by the end of May.

“Whosoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” Jesus is the foundation, the bedrock, the beginning and the end.  To have Him is to have it all.  In Him we have life.  And we are called to live in Him to live this new life He has given us, to grow up into His image.  This is a struggle in this sinful world.  But His grace is sufficient as he refreshes us through the Word and Sacrament.
