PASTOR BRANDT’S BIBLE STUDY: If you come to Pastor Brandt’s Bible Study beginning this Thursday, August 18, at 10:30 AM, you will learn what St. James has to say about the oppression of the wealthy, about boasting, about murmuring, about farmers, and many other such items. GUILD MEMBERS will meet on Sunday, August 28, for their meeting and to make noodles for the Smorgasbord. Ladies of the congregation are invited to become members and/or just join them for an evening of “fun noodle-making!”
THRIVENT CHOICE DOLLARS: The amounts of $908.00 and $2,894.00 have been deposited in the church and school accounts, respectively, on behalf of the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Thrivent Choice program. Listings of those who directed their choice dollars are posted on the bulletin board in the front school hall.
ST. PAUL, BORCHERS, is sponsoring a benefit meal and silent auction today to raise funds to assist the Jack Guffey family with their home remodeling in the Cortland area, which will better accommodate daughter, Danielle, who needs to use a wheelchair, due to cerebral palsy. This family suffered a setback when their wife and mother, Teresa, died unexpectedly from cancer. Donations may be mailed to St. Paul-Borchers Care Team, 10792 N. Co.
