WE REJOICE WITH Luke & Katie Otte as they bring their daughter, HEIDI JOANNE OTTE, to be baptized this morning.  Heidi’s sponsors are family friends, Elizabeth Brown and Matthew May. Bekah Brown is serving as her junior sponsor.  God’s blessings to you, Heidi!     

 

THE LENTEN SEASON continues this Wednesday evening at 7 PM.  Pastor Jeff Patterson from St. Peter’s, Brownstown, will preach on “Gethsemane: A Place of Strength.”  The Guild will be serving sloppy joes and assorted salads and desserts for supper before the service, beginning at 5:45 PM.

 

HELP IS NEEDED for food preparation, serving, and clean-up for the LLL banquet, which is being served by our school.  Please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the front hall of school for times needed.  Any and all help is truly appreciated!

 

PLEASE CONTACT Karen Schlehuser (812-342-6140) by March 13 if you would like to place Easter lilies/spring flowers on the altar for Easter.

 

WCLS ENROLLMENT:  White Creek Lutheran School is now accepting enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year.  If you know of any new families who might be interested in enrollment information, please contact Mrs. Buss.  Enrollment forms are available in the office.

 

WHITE CREEK LUTHERAN SCHOOL is seeking a teacher for the coming school year for grades 6-8 departmentalized in the areas of science and social studies.  Appropriate licensing is required.  Please send resumes to the school office by this Friday, March 4.

 

THE NEXT SCHOOL FUNDING MEETING will be held Monday, March 7, at 6:30 PM.

CONGRATULATIONS TO Luke & Katie Otte on the birth of their daughter, HEIDI JOANNE, on Friday, February 19.  Heidi arrived weighing 8 lbs. 15 ozs. and measuring 20.5 ins.  God’s blessings to them!

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO Ryan & Alexa Hoene on the birth of their daughter, ELLIE JADE, on Friday, February 19.  Ellie arrived weighing 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and measuring 21 ins.  Everyone is doing fine – God’s blessings to them!

 

BROOM DONATIONS:  The LWML is filling scrub buckets for the Orphan Grain Train to be used in disaster response.  Sturdy push brooms and regular brooms are needed.  If you would like to donate, brooms may be brought to the front hall of school.  Jean Voelker will take care of all donations.  (This week Menards is running a special on a regular broom for $7.99 with a $3.00 rebate.)

MARCH CALENDAR AND NEWS ITEMS will be available from the ushers after today’s worship.

 

LLL SPRING BANQUET:  The Spring Banquet of the Lutheran Laymen’s League will be held here at White Creek next Sunday, March 6.  Registration will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by the meal, entertainment, elections, and the guest speaker, Pastor Jung.  Tickets are $15/person and are available in our church office or from Keith Mensendiek (812-343-3288).  The meal is being served by White Creek Lutheran School with proceeds benefiting the school’s scholarship fund.  See Keith Mensendiek for tickets – deadline for ticket purchase is today.
