June 26 Weekly News


WE COME IN PRAYER:  Most Holy God, You have placed Your holy    message of salvation into us sinful and lowly creatures.  Draw us into Your presence and cleanse us of all our sins.  Continue to fill us with a clear vision of Your great glory, that we may be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ.  In His precious name we pray.  Amen.

 

CALL PROCESS UPDATE:  Names of pastoral candidates to consider for a call have been submitted by members of our congregation. These names have been forwarded to Pastor Nathan Janssen, our Circuit Visitor. Pastor Janssen will forward them to the District Office to receive biographical information and ministry strengths and weaknesses.  When this information is received from the Districts these ministers serve, our call committee will review all information and provide the congregation with their recommendation.

PORTALS OF PRAYER devotional booklets for July-September are      available in the narthex.  Large print copies are also available.

 

JULY CALENDAR AND NEWS will be available from the ushers after    today’s worship.

 

CANDIDATE JAMES ROCKHILL and his family will be leaving in July to serve his congregations in Nebraska.  Monetary donations or gift cards for the   Rockhill family are being received yet today and may be given to Bryan Schroer, Louis Voelker, Ben Peters, Paul Otte, or Becky in the church office.

 

NEXT SUNDAY’S WORSHIP  will be a special God and Country service as we observe Independence Day, July 4th.


 
B.A.S.I.C. (Bible and Sports in Communion) will meet tonight at 7:00 PM in the gym.  Come out for good physical and faith exercise!
 
ANYONE INTERESTED in sharing their musical talents at the upcoming Church Picnic on August 21 by singing or playing an instrument are asked to contact Greg Hercamp at 812-525-7255.
 
CONGRATULATIONS TO Brent & Lora Waskom on the birth of their daughter, AMELIA ROSE WASKOM, last Monday, June 20.  Amelia arrived weighing 6 lbs. and measuring 19 ins.  Everyone is doing fine.                          God’s blessings to them!
 
MANY THANKS TO all those who helped at the parsonage cleaning day.  Many hands worked together to freshen up the house for Mr. Noelker’s arrival!
 
THE TRINITY TREASURES RESALE SHOP in Columbus is looking for a Thrift Shop Manager!  The Thrift Shop Manager is a volunteer position who would oversee all aspects of the Trinity Treasures Resale Shop, which is a non-for-profit organization that provides a third source of income for Trinity Lutheran High School.  If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity or would be willing to share in this responsibility with other individuals, please contact Crista Burbrink at 812-216-1982.  The organizing Board will meet again July 5 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul, Clifty.
 
CHILD CARE WORKERS NEEDED:  The Immanuel (Seymour) Lutheran Child Care Ministry needs loving workers to provide care for the growing   number of children served.  Stop by the Immanuel church office to pick up an     application or call Ashley at 812-522-3118 or email her at                                    akamman@immanuelseymour.com.  These are part-time positions.
 
TRINITY LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL seeks a full-time resource teacher for the 2016-2017 school year.  Responsibilities include tutoring, coordinating classroom and testing accommodations, maintaining progress, monitoring  records, developing intervention strategies alongside faculty, and communicating with parents and faculty on student progress.  Secondary education teacher license required in any field, with experience or background in special education preferred.  Please bring a cover letter and resume to the Trinity   office, 7120 N. 875 E., Seymour, Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. or email Principal Ben Stellwagen at bstellwagen@trinitycougars.org.
 
LOOKING AHEAD:  The Church Council will meet on Wednesday, July 6, at 8:00 p.m. (after worship), and the Quarterly Voters’ Meeting will be held on Sunday, July 17, after the worship service.  Mark your calendars!
