*Updated* Prayer Reminder: Halie Brumley

I cannot help but ask again for prayer for little Halie Brumley.

She is at Cleveland Clinic, under the best possible care for epilepsy, and yet she continues to get worse.  They don't seem to know what to do with her.

Heavenly Father,
Be with your little lamb Halie.  Help those who care for her find some answers; strengthen her parents as they wait for Your help.  Help your child Halie find rest and peace in Your love for her even as she struggles.  Help them all be comforted by the coming of Easter, even as they wait in the valley of sadness.  Amen

For here we have no lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.  Hebews 13:14

UPDATE:
Although they had hoped to come home today, they will not to be discharged yet, to Halie's extreme disappointment.  Halie is being transferred this afternoon to pediatric ICU where they will monitor her seizures and heart problems.

I will post as more information becomes available.

on parenting

It's a good question: Can Lutheran moms be "Tiger Moms?"

When we hear a "super-parent" like Amy Chua talk about all the amazing things she has accomplished with her daughters, how can we not feel some amount of guilt for those extra hours of TV or free time that we might allow our own children?

What makes a successful parent?  What should our goals be for our children?
Read an article on this topic by deaconess Pam Nielson in the latest edition of the Lutheran Witness here.

Confirmation Sunday: Nevertheless

In Baptism, God promised His faithfulness to twelve of our children.  As they grew, the enemy tried to steal God's word and faith from their hearts.  NEVERTHELESS, God has been faithful, and they have grown up to confess their faith in Him for themselves.  Praise God for these twelve Confirmed brothers and sisters in Christ!

God love me dearly
Grants me salvation
God loves me dearly
Loves even me!

Prayer request: Halie Brumley

Halie Brumley is leaving with her parents this afternoon to return to Cleveland Clinic.  She continues to have serious troubles with epilepsy.

Please pray that they would find some answers for her!  Pray also that God will comfort them during the long period of testing and waiting (1 to 5 days).

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2
