August 12 Weekly News

MANY THANKS TO Pastor Brandt for leading our worship today and this coming Wednesday evening.  Pastor & Emily are vacationing this week and will return home Saturday.

BIBLE STUDY:  Is there a reason why some of us have no desire to grow in our relationship with God in Bible Study?  Does this have anything to say about our spirituality?  This will be a part of our discussion at Pastor Brandt's Bible Study, "The Sacraments," which will begin this Thursday, August 16, at 10:30 AM in the Fellowship Room.  Call Becky in the church office (342-3516) to enroll.

THE WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY will be held on Wednesday afternoons at 3:30 at the parsonage, beginning on September 5.  Emily will be leading discussion of the book, Grace For the Good Girl.  This book may be ordered online or through Emily at 447-8693 or emilymariecook@gmail.com.  Check out the church blog for more information about this book.

SENIOR LEAGUE MEMBERS will meet for supper next Sunday evening, August 19, at 5:30 PM at Bob Evans Restaurant at West Hill and then return to the Fellowship Room for their monthly meeting and socializing.

STORAGE SPACE of approximately 20'x20' is going to be needed for the organ being donated by Janeen Blomenberg during its restoration.  If you would have space in a barn, shed, or garage, please contact Pastor Cook.

LWML MISSION MOMENTS:  154 delegates awarded $120,000 in mission grants at the LWML convention in June.  Lutheran Blind Mission Bible Study received $4,000.  The mission of the Lutheran Blind Mission is to help blind people see Jesus.   They will produce, design and distribute the first ever Audio Bible Study that examines each book of the Bible on CD so that blind and visually impaired individuals may understand and apply God’s word to their lives.  These CD’s will be distributed at no cost through 5 outreach centers in Indiana, including one in Seymour.
