Back Surgery

Kathryn Taulman's back surgery is scheduled for this morning. Please pray that the surgery will go smoothly and that it will give her relief from the pain that she has been having in her leg.

LUTHERAN WITNESS: Persons who would like to order/reorder The Lutheran Witness magazine need to contact Becky in the church office by Sunday, October 9. Subscription price is $15. Checks should be made payable to our church.

SENIOR LEAGUE MEMBERS are reminded that their monthly meeting will be one week later than usual, next Sunday, September 25. The group will meet at Papa’s Grill at West Hill at 5:30 PM and then return to the Fellowship Room for their meeting and fellowship.

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet next Sunday after worship.

OCTOBER CALENDAR AND NEWS ITEMS need to be submitted to Becky by TOMORROW.

A BAKE SALE will be held after church on Sunday, October 2. Baked goods and monetary donations would be appreciated. All proceeds will go to Derek & Kristie Wessel to help with expenses as Kristie continues treatment for cancer. Thrivent will be providing matching funds. BASKET BINGO NIGHT has been set for Friday, October 14. Tickets are now on sale – see any WCLS student. Monetary donations and/or raffle prize donations are also being accepted from individuals and businesses to help defray expenses of the evening. EVERYONE IS INVITED to a community appreciation event this Thursday, Sept. 22, to dedicate the new bus of the Lutheran Community Home. This bus was made possible through donations and memorials from many individuals and community organizations. A fish fry will be held from 5-7 PM, with the bus dedication at 5 PM. A free will offering will be received to continue to raise funds to purchase a wheelchair accessible van.

TRINITY LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL invites students and their families to an open house Saturday, September 24, from 8-10 AM. All seventh and eighth grade students in attendance will receive one free admission to the Cougar Invitational Tournament scheduled for the same day from 9-noon. Interested eighth grade students will also receive a $75 voucher that covers registration costs at Trinity for the 2012-2013 school year. Please enter through the gym.

ALL LADIES OF THE CONGREGATION are invited to the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Fall Zone Rally on Saturday, October 8, at Faith Lutheran Church, Columbus. Registration ($5 donation) will begin at 8:30 AM. A salad luncheon will be served. No babysitting will be provided.

Parents: Have a restless or crying child during services? No problem. Our service is broadcast in the church nursery (staffed and for children 3 years and younger), which is located in the kindergarten room at the north end of the upstairs school hall, and also in the church narthex. Feel free to ask an usher for assistance, if needed.

FRIENDS AND RELATIVES are invited to an Open House for Don & Wilma Claycamp as they celebrate their 50^th wedding anniversary at St. Paul’s (Borchers) Fellowship Hall next Sunday, September 25, from 2-4 PM. No gifts, please.
