STUDIES: One
of the Bible studies being led by Emily Cook on Luther’s Large Catechism,
will begin this evening at 7 PM in the Fellowship Room (no babysitting
provided-men are welcome, too!). This study is also offered on Wednesday
afternoons at 3:30 PM at the parsonage

AN 8-WEEK BIBLE STUDY,
led by Jean Jack, will begin on Wednesday, September 9, 5:00-6:00 PM, in the
Fellowship Room. "God Is in the Laundry Room" is based on Jeremiah 29:13
and inspires women to see the purpose and significance in every part of their
daily life and to seek God in even the smallest tasks. Contact Jean at 1-714-768-5731 to enroll.
THE
CHURCH TIME SURVEY needs to be returned to the church
office by next Sunday, August 16. (Extra
copies are in the narthex, if needed.)
At the last Quarterly Voters’ Meeting, the voters decided to send out
this survey to all church households, and however the majority votes, if any
change is decided, begin that change on
the Sunday after Labor Day, September 13.

SENIOR LEAGUE MEMBERS
are reminded they will meet next Sunday evening, August 16, at 5:30 PM for
supper and will then return to the Fellowship Room for their monthly meeting
and socializing.
ENGRAVED BRICKS

CHURCH HISTORY: In January of 1905, it was resolved that
corpses be taken into the church for the funeral service. Prior to that time, viewings were held in the
home of the family of the deceased.
A FEW VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED to help with this year's Vacation Bible School on
Saturday, August 29, from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. Please look over this list of
helpers that are still needed and see where you can use your gifts!
