Kurt Linn

Kurt Linn has been admitted to Columbus Regional Hospital's ICU with a blood sugar level of more than 600. Please pray that the doctors will be able to bring his diabetes back into check.

TODAY'S ALTAR FLOWERS have been given by Emily, Katie, Dale & Bettie Burbrink to the glory of God in celebration and thanksgiving for the 25th wedding anniversary of Scott & Beth Burbrink this Wednesday, September 26.  May God grant you many more happy years together, Scott & Beth!

 

WE REJOICE WITH David & Whitney Vandercar as they bring their son, REESE MICHAEL VANDERCAR, to be baptized this morning.  Reese's sponsors are his uncle and aunt, James & Michele Rockhill, and Whitney's cousin, Morgan Jones.  Reese was born last Monday, September 17, weighing 7 lbs. 8 ozs. and measuring 21 inches.  God's blessing to you, Reese!

 

PORTALS OF PRAYER devotional booklets for October-December will be available from the ushers after today's worship to those who did not receive one last Sunday.

 

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet this evening at 6:00 PM.

LUTHERAN WITNESS:  It's time once again to order/reorder the Lutheran Witness magazine.  Subscription price  remains at $15.00 for the year.  Contact Becky in the church office by Sunday, October 7, to order.  Checks may be made payable to our church.

 

RESEARCH SURVEY:  Mrs. Vandercar is working to complete her master's degree, and, as part of a final project, she is conducting a short research survey about how our school is valued and perceived.  She would greatly appreciate your input!  You can pick up a paper copy of the survey in the narthex after church OR please visit the church blog (whitecreekweekly.blogspot.com) to contribute your thoughts.

 

ALL LADIES of the congregation are invited to the LWML Fall Rally to be held on Saturday, September 29, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Franklin.  Registration begins at 9:00 AM.  Speaker will be Caroline Klemz, Missionary and Author, speaking on "My Mission: Walking  with God-Alaska-A Dream Come True."   An Alaskan luncheon will follow the rally.

2012 WALK FOR LIFE:  The Pregnancy Care Center will hold its annual Walk For Life next Saturday, September 29 at the East Columbus Christian Church, 3170 Indiana Ave, Columbus.  Registration will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by the walk at 10:30 and lunch at 11:30 AM.  For more information, contact Jean Voelker at 522-8168.

 

THE ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN will host a fundraiser on October 7, 2012, at 5:30 PM at the Clarion Hotel.  Pastor Mech from Joplin, Missouri, will be the guest speaker.  His town was devastated by the Joplin tornado.  For more information and/or tickets, contact Mariagnes Meyer (342-3023) or Betty McCrory 342-3580).

 

ST. JOHN'S (SAUERS) Men's Club will sponsor a Soup & Sandwich Supper and Bazaar on Sunday, October 7, from 4:00-7:00 PM.  A free-will offering will be received.  Everyone invited.
