SENIOR LEAGUE MEMBERS are reminded to meet at the Waymansville Fish Fry this evening at 5:30 PM for supper and then return to the Fellowship Room for their monthly meeting and socializing.

YOUTH GROUPS will meet this evening at 7 PM.

NOVEMBER CALENDAR AND NEWS ITEMS need to be given to Becky by TOMORROW.

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet this Wednesday evening at 5:30 PM.

ADVENT BY CANDLELIGHT:  This special evening will be an opportunity for adults (confirmed and older) of the congregation to set aside the hustle and bustle of holiday preparations and focus on the birth of Christ.  It will be held on Sunday, November 29, at 6:30 PM.  The evening will include readings, a variety of music, and desserts.  This will be an elegant, relaxing evening of friendship and preparation for the true meaning of Christmas.  Reservations are needed, but the event is free.  Sign-up will be held Nov. 1-Nov. 22.

HOSTESS OPPORTUNITIES:  Want to ensure you have a seat at this year’s Advent By Candlelight?  Volunteer to be a table hostess, and we will reserve a chair for you!  Hostesses provide table settings, holiday decorations, candles, and a dessert for a  table of 8-10 people.  Many partner with one or two to host a table.  It is lots of fun, and requires only a few hours of your time for planning, baking (or buying) and decorating.  If you would like to host a table this year (or need more information before committing), please call or email Lindsay Paluch at 213-750-1256 or lpaluch@whitecreek.org.

CHURCH HISTORY:  In November of 1935, it was voted to look into purchasing new pews.  The old pews were shorter because of the placement of the pot belly stoves and the pipes extending from them.  There were no pews that went from aisle to window.  The old pews had center dividers that extended from the ceiling to the top of the pew.  These pews had straight seats and straight backs.  They were hard and uncomfortable!

2015 PLEDGES for our school expansion are due by October 31.  The updated current balance yet outstanding is $215,000.

EYEGLASSES NEEDED:  MOST Ministries will be taking a Mission Trip to Nicaragua next June.  The people there have a great need for eyeglasses - adult, children, non-prescription sunglasses, and over-the-counter reading glasses.  Glasses cases would also be appreciated.  Jean Voelker has put a box in the narthex through the end of October for this collection and will see that the glasses get to someone going on this trip.  Your donations will bring sight!

FISH FRY:  St. Peter, Waymansville, Adult Fellowship will sponsor its Annual Fish Fry this evening from 4:00-7:00 PM. Supplemental funds will be provided by Thrivent Financial.  Everyone invited.
