October 21 Weekly News


LWML SUNDAY is being observed today.  All praise and thanks to God for the work and support of this organization.  The Mite Box is in the narthex to receive mites for missions throughout this month.

 

THE THRIVENT CHAPTER elections are being held today before and after worship.  Voting is being done in the narthex.  Members voting will be included in a drawing for Starbucks gift cards.

 

SENIOR LEAGUE MEMBERS will meet for supper this evening, at 5:30 PM at the Waymansville Fish Fry and will then return to the Fellowship Room for their meeting and socializing.

 

YOUTH GROUPS will meet this evening at 7 PM.  Plans will be finalized for the upcoming Harvest Party on October 27.  All Youth, please plan to attend!

 

NOVEMBER CALENDAR AND NEWS ITEMS need to be submitted to Becky by TOMORROW.

 

PASTOR ARTHUR RICKMAN and his family will be joining us in worship this Wednesday evening at 7 PM.  Pastor Rickman is a missionary in the Dominican Republic and will be preaching and making a presentation about his work there.

 

LADIES AID MEMBERS will meet this Wednesday, October 24, at 9 AM in the Fellowship Room.  Ladies are asked to bring good scissors to cut blue jeans and work on a few other crafts.  Bible Study will begin at 11 AM followed by the business meeting.  Kathryn Taulman is hostess, and Joanne Kerkhof will lead the Bible Study.

MONETARY DONATIONS are being sought to help cover material costs for some picnic tables for our school playground.  The tables are being built by Devin Brock for his senior project.  Donations may be given to Becky in the church office.

 

HARVEST PARTY:  Our Youth Groups will be sponsoring a Harvest Party this coming Saturday, October 27, from 6:30-8:30 PM in the school gym.  Tickets will be available to purchase at the door for the various games and activities.  Come out and enjoy food and some scary fun!  Parents are asked to please accompany their children.

 

BAKED GOODS, CLOTHING, LOTIONS, ETC. are needed for the Lutheran Community Home's Bonus Bucks Sale this Friday, October 26, at 2:00 PM.  Donations may be delivered to the activity room at LCH any time before the sale.

 

TRINITY LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL will be performing its 8th annual musical on Thursday, November 8, through Sunday, November 11.  This year's production is Annie Get Your Gun.  Performances will take place in the school's Commons at 7:00 PM nightly.  In addition, a matinee on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 will be available.  Tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased through the school office.  For questions or more information, please call the Trinity office at 812-524-8547.

 

HOG ROAST:  The White Creek Methodist Church will hold its annual Hog Roast this coming Saturday, October 27, from 4-7 PM.  Carry out service will be available. A free-will offering will be received for the meal.  Also featured will be a quilt and dollhouse raffle, baked goods and handmade crafts sale, and musical entertainment.  Everyone invited.

 

BAKE SALE:  The Lutheran Community Home will be holding its annual fall bake sale on Friday, November 2, beginning at 9 AM.  All proceeds will go toward long-range plans for the Chapel expansion.  Donations of brownies, homemade noodles, oyster crackers, pretzel treats, rolls, or whatever your creative gift may be.  Items may be brought to the activity room Thursday, November 1, or Friday morning.  For more information or questions, please call Susie Grelle at 812-522-5927 ext. 136.  Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be providing matching funds.
