Attention Medical Professionals

Health care professionals, others needed
for volunteer medical teams abroad

Positions open for August, October, November trips
Health care professionals, others needed for volunteer medical teams abroadPlease help us spread the word about The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod's immediate need for medical professionals and others to join short-term volunteer medical teams that provide health care to underserved people abroad.
Medical professionals who serve on LCMS Mercy Medical Teams are generally deployed for 10-day assignments, which provide a lasting and sustainable impact on health-care efforts in international locations and relief projects supported by LCMS World Relief and Human Care (WR-HC), the mercy arm of the LCMS.
Summer and Fall Teams Forming Now
Teams are now organizing and spots are still open for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, registered nurses, emergency medical professionals, pharmacists and LCMS pastors to serve as chaplains for teams traveling to Haiti from August 6-14, Madagascar from October 6-16 and Kenya from November 8-20.
While medical professionals are in need, adults who do not have health care experience also can apply for these volunteer positions. Such volunteers will be placed on teams with trained and experienced leaders. Chaplains also are needed to provide pastoral care to the medical teams and the people they serve.
"Christ's mercy to those in physical need was an integral part of His work here on earth," said Maggie Karner, director of Life and Health Ministries for WR-HC. "It is a blessing to continue that work as we share His compassionate love with others."
WR-HC's health ministry staff members assemble LCMS Mercy Medical Teams; provide experienced team leaders; coordinate medical sites and medications; assist with visa and immunization matters; arrange for travel, meals and accommodations; and provide evacuation insurance for all volunteers. Team members are responsible for paying for their travel fees for flight, meals and accommodations.

If you love me...

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments." John 14:15

This is a hard word of Law for sinners to hear.  We say we love Him, but we don't keep His commandments.  Jesus knows this about us.  So what does He do about His rebellious children?

He sets His face for the cross.  He promises to send a Helper.  He has mercy.

Read all of John 14:15-21
And listen to Sunday's sermon here.
