February 5 Weekly News


YOUTH GROUPS will meet this evening at 7:00 p.m.

 

THE BOARDS OF EVANGELISM AND STEWARDSHIP will meet tomorrow (Monday) evening at 6:00 p.m.

 

THE GUILD will meet this Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.

 

THE BOARD OF ELDERS will meet this Wednesday evening after worship.

 

THE HIGH SCHOOL SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will begin a 6-week session next week, using material from Financial Peace University’s high school curriculum. This study will include a mix of video lessons with activities and other curriculum content designed to teach sound financial habits.  All high school students are invited to come.  Questions???  See Jean Jack. 

 

WCLS OPEN HOUSE:  White Creek Lutheran School will hold its annual open house this Friday, February 10, with snow date of Monday, February 13.  Open House hours will be 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM.  You are invited to sit in on classes during the course of the day.  Teachers will be available to answer questions in between instruction times.  If you plan on being at school for lunch, please contact the school a few days in advance to make your reservation.

 

FINANCIAL PEACE:  A Financial Peace University class will be hosted at White Creek beginning next Saturday, February 11, at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Room.  This is a 9-week class, which will teach you to dump debt, save for retirement and children’s college expenses, and to manage money God’s way. If you are interested in joining, you may sign up online at www.daveramsey.com/fpu/classes.  We are establishing sponsors from the congregation to help cover some of the cost of the class.  If you would like to sign up for the classes with the help of a sponsor, please meet with Phil or Crista Burbrink (812-216-1982).

  

OUR YOUTH GROUPS will be providing Valentines Date Night babysitting for children through 5th grade next Sunday, February 12, 5:00-8:00 p.m. in our school gym.  Bring your children and enjoy a night out!  A free-will donation will be accepted.  Hot dogs and snacks will be provided.

 

 

MANY THANKS TO everyone who helped with Pastor Whitmore’s installation.  Thanks to those who helped organize, set up, brought dishes to share, and helped with the clean-up of the meal.  Also, many thanks to all our outgoing church officers for their time and commitment during their term in office.

 

TRINITY OPEN HOUSE: Trinity Lutheran High School invites students and their families to its final open house next Sunday, February 12, from 2:00-4:00 PM.  All interested eighth grade students will receive a $75 voucher that covers half of the registration costs at Trinity for the 2017-2018 school year.  Please enter through the commons. 

 

REFORMATION 500-BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY:  2017 is an historic year as we commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.  A committee is being formed to promote events in our county related to this celebration as well as plan and coordinate Germany serving as host country for the Ethnic Expo coming up October 13-14 of this year.  The committee is open to all interested persons.  If you have any questions, please contact Colin Scheidt at cscheidt05@comcast.net or 812-378-2655.
