April 1 Weekly News

HOLY WEEK WORSHIP: Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Communion will begin at 7 PM. The service, “The Feast of the New Covenant,” will end with the stripping of the Altar. Good Friday service will begin at 7 PM. The altar candles will be extinguished, and the cross will be carried to the cemetery (weather permitting). Our Easter Sunrise service will begin at 7 AM, followed by the Easter breakfast served by our Youth. Sunday School will begin at 9 AM, and the Easter service with Holy Communion will begin at 10:15 AM.

PORTALS OF PRAYER devotions for April – June are available in the narthex.

APRIL CALENDAR AND NEWS are also available in the narthex.

INSTEAD OF candy donations, our Sunday School is seeking monetary donations to help purchase devotion books for the Sunday School children for Easter. Donations may be given to Lori Hill, Tammy Claycamp, or Becky in the church office BY TODAY.

WE REJOICE WITH Mark & Richelle Bushur as they bring their daughter, RUTH MARY RICHELLE, to be baptized during the 10:15 service today. Ruth’s sponsors are her uncle and aunt, Peter & Lois Dooms and cousin, Mary Ann Dooms. Ruth arrived on Saturday, March 24, weighing 8 lbs. 6 ozs. and measuring 20 ½ inches. God’s blessings to you, Ruth!

GOD’S BLESSINGS to our seven eighth grade students who will be confirmed during today’s 10:15 service: Julia Bushur, Christina Claycamp, Dylan Maschino, Sydney Morey, Keith Ping, Brooke Plummer, and Eric Taulman.

BULLETIN ITEMS for next Sunday need to be submitted to Becky by Tuesday this week. The church office will be closed this Friday in observance of the day Christ suffered and died for us.

FISH FRY/SILENT AUCTION: Kristie’s Krew (Kristie Wessel) will be sponsoring a Fish Fry and Silent Auction on Friday, April 13, from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Hope Moravian Church. A free-will offering will be received, with all profits going to the American Cancer Society. Thrivent Financial will be providing matching funds. Everyone invited!

POSITION AVAILABLE: Faith Lutheran Church (West SR 46, Columbus) is searching for a preschool director/teacher to begin in the 2012-2013 school year. This is a permanent position, 29 hours/week. For more information, go to http://www.faithontheweb.org/search.php.

REDS/CUBS BASEBALL GAME: Tickets may still be ordered for the Reds/Cubs baseball game on Sunday, August 19. The sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the front school hall. Deadline to sign up is TODAY.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for our Vacation Bible School to be held May 29-30-31 for children 3 years through 5th grade. Watch for more information as the time nears.

Kristie Wessel



We just heard from Kristie.
They were able to get good samples of the spot in her stomach.

Preliminary pathology indicates that THREE  lymph nodes in her stomach are malignant.

Please keep the family in your prayers. They must be exhausted, discouraged, and weary...

May God uphold Kristie and all who love her, providing daily bread for daily trials.

March 25 Weekly News

LENT CONTINUES with midweek worship Wednesday at 7 PM. The Youth will be serving a spaghetti supper before worship, beginning at 5:45 PM.

PORTALS OF PRAYER devotions for April – June are available in the narthex if you did not receive one last Sunday.

APRIL CALENDAR AND NEWS will be available from the ushers after today’s worship.

PERSONS WHO would like to put spring flowers on the altar or in the narthex for Easter are asked to contact Karen Schlehuser (342-6140) TODAY. Flowers may be purchased individually or through Karen.

LADIES AID MEMBERS are reminded of their meeting this Wednesday, with the workday beginning at 9 AM, followed by Bible study and the meeting at 11 AM.

CONGRATULATIONS TO Meghan Bartells on the birth of her son, Braxton Stephen Marcoux. Braxton arrived weighing 7 lbs. and measuring 19 inches. He was about 5 weeks premature, so will be in the hospital until he is able to eat a little better and gain a little more weight. God’s blessings to them!

CONGRATULATIONS TO Darren & Laura Otte on the birth of their daughter, Charlotte Opal, this past Monday. Charlotte arrived weighing 6 lbs. 1 oz. and measuring 19 inches. Everyone is doing fine – God’s blessings to them!

March 18 Weekly News

BLESSINGS TO Zak Blackwood, Tyler Meyer, and Matt Sullivan who were baptized this past Wednesday evening after worship and Matt, Kelly, and Savanna Sullivan who were confirmed, also after Wednesday’s worship. A big welcome to all of these individuals to our White Creek family!

PERSONS WHO volunteered on the Time & Talent Survey to help maintain the church/school grounds are asked to please meet briefly in the church after worship today.

TRINITY’S TRAVELING CABARET: Trinity’s music and drama students will be taking a show on the road! Join us for an evening of music, dancing, song, and laughter at one of three locations: Trinity, Immanuel Lutheran School, or St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty. The preview performance, “A Sweet Delight,” will be presented on April 26 at 7 PM in Trinity’s Bollinger Gymnasium. Ticket cost is $10/person, which includes a modified show and dessert. For an even fuller experience, join Trinity’s Traveling Cabaret at St. Paul, Clifty, on Saturday, April 28, or at Immanuel Lutheran School on Sunday, April 29, for a catered meal and show. Both performances of “Twilight Talents” begin at 5 PM. Ticket cost is $15/person. Tickets will go on sale April 2 through the Trinity school office, 812-524-8547.

Baby Otte is here!!!

 


The Otte Family is blessed to annouce the arrival of Charlotte Opal Otte.
 6# 1oz, 19 inches.

 God has truly blessed us.

Kristie Wessel got her test results today. They are pleased to see that her chest is clear!

However, there is a new spot- lymph node in her stomach- that is a concern.  She will have to have a biopsy.

Please keep her in your prayers, and the entire family, as they wait, and are again facing an uncertain future. May God uphold them with his steadfast love.
