(3) Intermediate exercises from floor (4) Advanced
Alternating classes of Pump & Yoga to help participants balance
& improve their personal health and well being.

Pump - A combination of standing and floor (3-4) or chair (1-2) exercises using elastic tubing, hand weights and stability balls to increase muscle tone and strength.


Levels of intensity: (1) Beginner with a chair (2) Beginner

Yoga - Perform Yoga postures to improve strength, flexibility and balance.

March 2 Weekly News


PARENTS OF this year's student confirmands are asked to meet today after worship.  Please remain in church.

 

SENIOR HIGH YOUTH are asked to meet with Mrs. Vandercar in the office after worship today to finalize plans for Wednesday evening's Lenten supper.

 

THE LENTEN SEASON will begin this Wednesday, Ash Wednesday, March 5.  Our 7:00 PM worship service will include the imposition of ashes.  The Senior High Youth will be serving supper before the service, beginning at 5:45 PM.

 

LENTEN DEVOTION BOOKS, written by the students of Trinity Lutheran High School, are available in the narthex.  (This year they are not being mailed directly to homes.)  Please help yourself.

CONGRATULATIONS TO David & Kendra (Bode) Huehls on the birth of their daughter, MADELYN DANIELLE HUEHLS, last Sunday.  Maddie arrived weighing 9 lbs. 3/4 oz. and measuring 21 1/2 ins.  Everyone is doing fine - God's blessings to them!

 

ON OUR ORIGINS:  Pastor and author Daniel Lepley will be leading an On Our Origins workshop on faith, science, creation, and Christ at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour, on March 14-15.  Designed for adults, high school and college students, this event will equip Christians to defend their faith in a secular world.  Registration is $20 for adults, $15 for pastors, teachers and students.  Registration forms are available in the narthex, or persons may register online at www.onourorigins.org.  For more details, check out the website.

 

ST. PETER'S Lutheran School, Columbus, is preparing for an Alumni Celebration on May 17, 2014, and is trying to reach as many alumni as possible to establish an up-to-date and accurate alumni directory.  Please send any current information of SPLS alumni (yourself, sons and daughters, other relatives) to alumni@stpeters-columbus.org, including name (maiden also, if married), address, telephone number, and graduating year, if possible.

 

THE TRINITY RESALE STORE at 601 W. Second St., Seymour, will be having a "Sweet Spring Time Open House" Thursday-Saturday, March 13-15.  Hours will be 9:00 AM-5:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, and 10:00 AM-2:00 PM on Saturday.  Lots of spring fashions and items will be for sale, and refreshments will be served.  Come out and do some bargain shopping and support Trinity Lutheran High School!

 

ASSET AUCTION:  Trinity Lutheran High School will hold an Asset Auction for the general public on Saturday, March 29, at the Betty Shepman farm on highway 50 in Seymour across from Applebee’s.  The auction will begin at 9:00 AM with auctioneer Fred Pollert, of Pollert’s, Inc., and food will be served throughout the day.  The Asset Auction effort is called “Renew Their Strength” with all proceeds raised at the auction being applied toward the debt on the original school loan for Trinity.  Join in the fun and find that special treasure you’ve been looking for.  There will be some special desserts too!

 

CHILI SUPPER:  The Columbus FFA Chapter will be having its annual Frank Burbrink Memorial Chili Supper this Friday, March 7, from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Family Arts Building at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds.  Included will be a silent auction with various prizes donated by generous businesses and benefactors around the community.  A free-will donation will be accepted for the chili supper.  All proceeds will go to a fund for scholarships for the senior members of the Columbus FFA Chapter.  Everyone is invited.

February 23 Weekly News


MARCH CALENDAR AND NEWS will be available from the ushers after today's worship.

 

LADIES AID MEMBERS will meet this Wednesday, February 26, at 9:00 AM for their craft workday, followed by Bible Study and their monthly meeting at 11:00 AM.  Guests are always welcome to join them for a morning of work, study, and fellowship!

 

ALTAR GUILD VOLUNTEERS are still needed.  If you would be willing to help one month, please contact Cari Hercamp (812-528-0547).

 

THE LLL SPRING BANQUET will be held next Sunday, March 2, at St. Paul's, Jonesville.  Registration will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by the meal, entertainment, elections, and the guest speaker.  See Keith Mensendiek for tickets ($15/person).

ASSET AUCTION:  Trinity Lutheran High School will hold an Asset Auction for the general public on Saturday, March 29, at the Betty Shepman farm on Hwy 50 in Seymour across from Applebee's.  The auction will begin at 9:00 AM with auctioneer Fred Pollert, of Pollert's, Inc., and food will be served throughout the day.  The Asset Auction effort is called "Renew Their Strength" with all proceeds raised at the auction being applied towards the debt on the original school loan for Trinity.  Some ideas on assets that you could donate include, a car, truck, tractor, motorcycle, camper, RV, jewelry, tools, antiques, collectibles, coins, guns, art, business equipment, livestock for slaughter, seed on deposit, farming equipment, furniture, lawn or garden equipment, clean property, stocks and bonds, paid up life insurance policies, etc.  All motorized vehicles and property need to have a clean and transferrable title.  Stocks and bonds that may be donated to Trinity will be sold immediately by Trinity.  A tax receipt for your gift will be mailed to you after the auction is complete.  Drop-off date for items at the Betty Shepman farm will be Saturday, March 1, and Saturday, March 8, from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.  If you would like to support the students of Trinity through this effort, please contact our Asset Auctions volunteer, Keith Mensendiek  (342-4981), Asset Auction co-chairs, John & Pam Fox (342-1323), or Trinity's Development Director, Michael Bridges (812-343-3352).

February 16 Weekly News


SENIOR LEAGUE MEMBERS will meet for supper THIS EVENING at Bob Evans at 5:30 PM and then come back to the Fellowship Room for their monthly meeting and socializing.

 

PHIL'S FRIENDS will meet THIS EVENING for card-making, followed by the Youth meetings at 7:00 PM.

 

AN ALUMINUM CAN DRIVE continues yet today.  A trailer is parked on the church/school grounds to receive items.

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet this Wednesday, February 19, after the worship service (7:35 PM).

 

OPEN HOUSE:  Trinity Lutheran High School will be holding its final open house TODAY from 2:00-4:00 PM.  All eighth grade students attending will be entered in a drawing to win a Trinity t-shirt.  Interested eighth grade students will also receive a $75 voucher that covers half of the registration costs at Trinity for the 2014-2015 school year.  Please enter through the commons.

DEPOSITS OF $313.00 and $144.00 have been made to the Church and Foundation accounts on behalf of the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans' Thrivent Choice Program.  Those persons directing their choice dollars include Dale & Bettie Burbrink, Robert Burbrink, Greg Hercamp, Jane Hoffman, Dennis & Joyce Meyer, Lloyd & Jean Meyer, Marguerite Meyer, Brian & Annette Purdue, and Aaron Voelker.  The school received $2,397.00 in designated choice dollars.  A listing of those directing their choice dollars to the school is posted on the bulletin board in the front school hall.

February 9 Weekly News
